Hurricane Erin starts to move away from North Carolina coast

Cruise passengers are facing frustrations over disruptions caused by Hurricane Erin, but are relieved to avoid the storm’s path.
Jennifer Chomiak, a Maryland tripscan resident on her first cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas, experienced a last-minute change. The ship, which left Baltimore on Thursday, had been set to dock in Bermuda but instead rerouted to Port Canaveral, Florida, on Sunday, CNN affiliate WBAL reported.
"They decided two days before our cruise to go to Orlando and Port Canaveral, where Cocoa Beach is," Chomiak told WBAL. "So, that was a little disappointing to hear."
For some passengers, safety took precedence over plans.
"We’d rather be safe. It is disappointing because we wanted to be in Bermuda, but I see the hurricane is heading right there," Sherry Teycer told CNN affiliate WESH.
